Echizen crabs, caught here in Fukui Prefecture, are renowned for their extraordinary taste and flavor. Guests can enjoy various types of local seafood, delicately nurtured by the ever-changing tides and complex currents of the ocean.
Thanks to the bountiful natural resources and changing climate of the local area, there are plenty of local ingredients to enjoy, including high-grade Koshihikari rice, Wakasa beef, and Fukui pork. Please enjoy a range of unique ingredients from the surrounding area.
For sake lovers, we also offer a selection of local sake, procured from various parts of the Fukui region.

Renovated in 2021, the rooms on this wing are Matuya Sensen’s standard Japanese-style rooms, and are recommended for guests who want a more casual ryokan experience.

Our female bathing area features a variety of baths, including a solo-bathing bath, a 'ne-yu' sleeping bath, and a healing sauna that offers the same benefits as a bedrock bath.
There’s also a ladies-only floor containing a relaxation parlor to enjoy after bathing, an aesthetician’s spa, and more.
Matuya Sensen boasts one of the largest bathing facilities in the Hokuriku region—please enjoy trying out all the different kinds of baths on offer.

Makeup remover and moisturizer are available in the powder room, which is divided into individual booths. After your bath, enjoy a sense of privacy as you take some time to care for your skin. The relaxation parlor’s interior decorations blend traditional Japanese and modern designs. Please relax and make yourself at home. One bath towel will be provided per person.

With an open kitchen and modern Japanese atmosphere, Sen-no-Sachi is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing dinner of seasonal delicacies.
Each dish is carefully prepared by our team of expert chefs, and makes use of the finest local ingredients of the season.
An abundant selection of sake from 34 breweries here in Fukui Prefecture is also available, as well as several brands of wine and shochu, original cocktails, and more. Our servers and chefs are also happy to recommend drink pairings to match your food.
